DeLonghi 1750-Watt Steam Iron with Ceramic and Stainless Steel Soleplate Reviews
11 of 12 people found the following review helpful Great Iron ... if it were $40, March 6, 2011 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: DeLonghi 1750-Watt Steam Iron with Ceramic and Stainless Steel Soleplate (Kitchen) The iron produces very little steam and will only do so when its full with water. The ceramic plate that surrounds the metal plate doesn't get hot enough. I have to use the iron on the high setting and max steam to get only 1/2 decent results. Even on this setting it will not easily get wrinkles out of denim or thick cotton dress shirts. Also the chord is poorly placed right between the two bases that support it; often getting caught underneath making the iron unstable and creating a potentially dangerous situation. The turbo button does produces a powerful blast of steam, but it is ineffective against the simplest of creases. This iron cannot compete in the $70+ price range. It would be better priced below $40. My 1600W Rowenta Master ($60) is much cheaper and runs circles around this. Its more comparable to my $20 Sunbeam Walmart Iron.

8 of 10 people found the following review helpful Great Iron, February 26, 2011 By This review is from: DeLonghi 1750-Watt Steam Iron with Ceramic and Stainless Steel Soleplate (Kitchen) Recently purchased the Velocity V50 Compact Vapor Generator Iron and did not like it for the simple reason that it gave off very little steam. Amazon is great for returns, but I decided to to buy the DeLonghi 1750-Watt Steam Iron locally to try out. I've only had the DeLonghi a week, but it is far superior to any other iron I've owned. It has great steam action, with a turbo steam button conveniently located under the handle, and gets nice and hot.
I highly recommend this steam iron.
Now been using this iron since February and it is great, probably the best iron I've ever owned!

This is a great iron. I use it for regular ironing and for quilting. I quilt a lot of handbags. This iron works wonderfully well with Pellon Fusible Fleece. Best iron I've ever had in 65 years.
