I bought this iron at Target during a large scale male nesting phase for my new apartment. Upon using it the first time, I nearly threw it through a window. Unless you have it on the maximum setting it will leak water all over your clothes, and even then it still leaks water even when you just stand it up. I have never written an online review before, but this piece of junk made me too mad. So, unless you enjoy the combination of steam and pure rage, I suggest coughing up a few extra bucks and buying something better.

I bought this iron to use as my craft/sewing iron. I LOVE IT!!! It is the best iron I have used, I prefer it over my $100.00 Rowenta. I use it mostly for quilting and ironing is 50% of quilting, if your pieces are not properly ironed your quilt will look awful! I teach sewing in a high school and am planning on buying seveal of these irons for my classroom. They use less wattage and work great. I have never had a problem with it leaking.

I have been using this little Sunbeam iron for about a year, and I have grown to like it a lot. When I first bought it, I was disappointed that it was fairly heavy for a travel iron. (I previously had a Black and Decker travel iron, which was light and had lots of steam.) I also wasn't initially pleased with the grip, which seemed awkward to me. However, both of these features turned into positive ones quite soon: the weight is actually good, because it removes wrinkles better than a lighter one would, and the hand grip is comfortable. There is a very long cord, which is convenient, and the iron is easy to fill. If you fill it only about halfway, it will be less likely to leak. It irons either with or without steam, which is useful for quilting, and otherwise it's handy to use for any fairly small job. To me, it seems just as good as the more expensive ones, as long as you don't mind the slightly heavier weight.
