Just like Mom's! {well as close as you can get these days}, February 15, 2011 This review is from: STEAM & DRY IRON (Applica/Black & Decker F63E) (Misc.) I wanted a nice heavy Iron and since my Mom passed away a year ago I wanted to be reminded of her while ironing. It was something my Mom took pride in and I didn't. Now that she's gone I wanted to do better, but was always frustrated with the iron I had. I told my husband what the iron my Mom had was like and he went on a search. This is it! Well, almost. My Mom's had a nylon cord and of course a little different. I would say that hers was made nicer, but I don't know the reason's why company's change things. It could be for our own safety, I don't know. This iron is very nice, not flashy, but does the job really nice! It's so much like Mom's it makes me smile every time I use it.

Pros and Cons, October 28, 2011 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: STEAM & DRY IRON (Applica/Black & Decker F63E) (Misc.) This iron is an old-fashioned iron and has some weight. It is nice in appearance, but not flash or anything. However the water spout tends to allow the water to come out of the canister when you move it around or jerk it from side to side. I did not go past the max line. I do appreciate the auto shut off because an iron like this gets very hot and could cause a fire. When it is hot the whole metal body gets hot so be careful if you wish to avoid burns. I would not recommend this iron around small children cause if it were to fall or get touched even after it has been turned off it still takes awhile to cool down. I am keeping the iron because I was able to get a price adjustment for $24- please check that Amazon has to different listings for this iron and one is listed at $34 and the other is listed for $24. For $24, it is a very good iron, however I was upset that I had to catch the price difference and two separate listings on Amazon- they adjusted price difference though after I... Read more

When I ordered this item I was looking for the B&D classic steam/dry iron that doesnt have the auto shut off feature. The classic model with auto shut off was on sale for $24.54. But I was willing to pay more to get the classic model with no auto shut off. This items information on this page did not list an auto shut off feature but when it arrived, it states auto shut off on the box!!!!! Disappointed will return and keep searching.
